Marion Island (Power Island), Traverse City

Before it was Power Island, it was called Marion Island by owner Frederic Hall who named it after his daughter in 1881. Henry Ford himself owned it from 1917-1944 and called it Ford Island. The next owner, Charles Rennie, named it Rennie Island (I'm beginning to see a theme here). Then in 1987 it was given to Grand Traverse County and renamed Power Island after entrepreneur Eugene B. Power.
